·       58 children are currently on the waiting list for scholarships

 

·       36% of Hilltop’s children are from minority and ethnic groups

 

·       43% of Hilltop’s children live in single-parent families

 

·       Child care fees are established on a sliding scale based on

        

         household income

  

·       In 2008, Hilltop Neighborhood House provided more than $125,000 in

       scholarships to low-income families in Porter County… approximately 

       $2400 every week!

Our Goal:

 

To raise funds to provide scholarships

 

to low income families for their children to be able to

 

attend Hilltop Neighborhood House

 Child Care Center. 

·       $65 provides a 50% scholarship for one week for a preschooler

 

·       $145 provides a full scholarship for a toddler for a week

 

·       $300 provides 2 weeks of care for a 2 year old.

 

·       $620 provides a full month of care for an infant.

Our Mission
The mission of Hilltop Neighborhood House is to empower families to succeed  
through Education, Supportive services and referrals, and Advocacy and collaboration.
Our Values

Hilltop Neighborhood House believes:

  • Service recipients and their communities should be involved in the planning and implementation of programs In developing and maintaining a professional, well-qualified, and dedicated staff
  • Our programs and services must be operated with fiscal integrity In a partnership with the Board of Directors, staff, volunteers, families and communities of our recipients and funding and accrediting sources.

Together, Hilltop Neighborhood House, Hilltop Too--"Walt's Place",  and HealthLinc serve the young child, school-age youth, and health care needs of the familiesof Northwest Indiana.

In addition, Hilltop Neighborhood House supports the local Hilltop Neighborhood through the Village Pantry and Reiner Community Center activities.
